The difference between 'Send and Receive' and 'Synchronize'
Outlook Express is multi-functioning software. It allows you to send/receive and store email, and it also lets you post, view, and store newsgroup information. Each is special and has special features that the other cannot use. The main difference is how email and newsgroups get and send their information. When you want to send and receive email, you select Send/Receive.
When you want to get new postings and send your postings to the newsgroups, you want to “Synchronize the Account”. You can easily do this by going to TOOLS, then SYNCRONIZE ACCOUNT.
You can also synchronize individual newsgroup. Highlight the specific newsgroup that you want to synchronize, and then click on TOOLS, and then SYNCRONIZE NEWSGROUP. Make sure there is a checkmark next to “Get the following items:” Then click on “New messages only” and then click on OK, and you will “Synchronize” your Newsgroup.
