How do I change the layout of the OE screen?

  1. Click on VIEW Click on LAYOUT
  2. Place a check in the boxes next to the following items that you wish to see on your Outlook Express view:

Contacts: This is located on the bottom left hand side of your screen and contains the contacts that are in your Address Book. This is recommended.

Folder Bar: This is located above your Inbox and is a dark gray bar that contains info on what folder you are currently in. This is recommended.

Folder List: This is located on the left side of your screen and contains the list of folders that you are subscribed to; including your Local Folders (E-Mail) and Newsgroup (Class) Folders. This is recommended.

Outlook Bar: This would be located on the far left of your screen and contain icons for your Inbox, Outbox, Deleted Items and Drafts

Status Bar: Located across the bottom of your screen and contains weather you are working online or offline, how many messages are in a folder, and how many messages are unread. This is recommended.

Tool Bar: This is located below the main menu bar that contains File, etc and contains the icons that are appropriate for the folder that you are in (i.e. New Post, Rely Group, Create Mail). This is recommended.

Views Bar: This is located below the Tool Bar and contains a drop-down menu for the different views that are available for the folder that you are in. This is recommended.

Show Preview Pane: This allows you to see the header of a message and below that a preview of the actual message. You have a choice if you want the preview pane below the header or besides the header. This is recommended.

Show Preview Pane Header: This is located right above the message body; this allows you to see the header of a message. This contains whom the message is from, the subject of the message, and the date it was sent.

Below is a screen shot with all of the above showing.
